The Michelle Sidwell Academy Of Dance is based in Chislehurst, Kent. Established since 1999 we offer high quality training in all aspects of the performing arts. The Academy is a small friendly school where all pupils are taught in a caring, encouraging and professional environment. All teachers are fully qualified and CRB checked. All pupils perform in our annual production at The Bob Hope Theatre as well as performing in other events throughout the year. Pupils have performed at The London Palladium, Sadlers Wells Theatre & Her Majesty's Theatre. We regularly take ISTD Examinations and have a 100% pass rate. We have a specialist pre-school class for pupils from 2.5years and a generous 20% discount for siblings.
We offer a wide range of dance styles including;
ISTD Classical ballet (including pointe work)
ISTD & Freestyle Tap Dancing
ISTD Modern Dance
ISTD & Freestyle Jazz
Street Dance
Musical Theatre including Singing & Drama Lessons
Specialist Pre-School Class from 2 1/2 years
Which Examination Board Do We Study?
Examinations are available for all pupils but are not compuslory. All pupils work towards Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) exams. This is a high standard faculty which is regularly monitored and audited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), to ensure that their standards are maintained. This stamp of approval reassures parents that the ISTD qualifications are comparable to those your children study within the National Qualifications framework at school.What age do I need to be?

Performances & Performance Experience
All pupils are invited to participate in our annual shows. These are held in February at The Bob Hope Theatre in Eltham. We also participate in Festivals, Fetes & Competitions. Performance experience is very important and aids quick learning and the ability to learn new routines quickly, an important part of any dancers professional career.

All pupils who attend Musical Theatre
class are given the opportunity to audition for both chorus and leading roles in West End musicals. We regularly receive
